    Enviro USA’s Floating Turbidity Curtains, also known as Silt Curtains, and Turbidity Barriers, comply with your state’s DOT requirements. We manufacture Type 1, 2 & 3 (light, medium & heavy duty) and these are available with Permeable or Impermeable skirts. Also, we have the capability of manufacturing according to your project requirements and we know where and how to reinforce, to make for a stronger product, capable of withstanding tough environmental conditions. In addition, we carry accessories such as anchor systems, tow bridles, and marker lights. These curtains have been used in multiple locations including the following: Intercoastal Waterways; Bays; Harbors; Great Lakes; High Flow Rivers.

    Applications Criteria Guide

    Type 1 DOT Light Duty Calm Water configuration should be used by contractors building bridges or working in ponds, lakes, canals, or waterways with light wind or calm water conditions.

    Type 2 DOT Medium Duty Moving Water configuration should be used in areas where there may be small to moderate current running up to 2 knots or 3.5 ft per second, and or with some wind. Normally used by contractors in rivers, inland waterways, harbors, protected ports and lakes. Available as permeable or impermeable.

    Type 3 DOT Heavy Duty Tidal Water configuration should be used in areas where considerable current up to 3 knots or 5 ft per second may be present, or in applications where they will encounter rough waters, tidal changes, strong winds and currents. Ideal for Harbors, Ports, Shorelines and Offshore. Available as permeable or impermeable.

Most often used by contractors building bridges or working in ponds, lakes, canals and waterways with light wind or current.
